Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) in Glasgow invites applications for a Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse to manage the Acute Receiving Unit at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. You will lead the nursing team and drive safe, high-quality patient care in a dynamic unscheduled care environment.

You will require strong leadership, excellent communication, and a flexible approach to manage a varied workload while supporting service improvement and team development.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience of working in unscheduled care.
• Demonstrable nursing leadership and management experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership with ability to supervise, support and develop staff.
• Ability to manage a varied and demanding workload.
• Flexible and positive approach to change.
• Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
• Experience as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• As Senior Charge Nurse, provide leadership and management of the Acute Receiving Unit.
• Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care and supervise nursing staff.
• Promote quality, patient safety and service improvement.
• Lead, support and develop staff within the team.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to respond to unscheduled care challenges.
