Overview

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to be engaged on a permanent basis, based in Newcastle, Bristol, Glasgow, London and Silchester.

Your purpose
  • Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
  • Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety informed design.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate 'Right First Time' delivery (incl. designers, client, site, and regulatory body (e.g. DNSR, ONR).
  • Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN, etc).
  • Producing safety reports and other technical documents (e.g. PSR, PCSR, ALARP reports, etc).
  • Support to Engineering Substantiation activities.
  • Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.
Location and flexibility

Whilst your office base will be in Bristol, Manchester, Silchester or Glasgow, flexibility in work location is a must - from time to time our clients do call on our team to deliver work from their sites.

  • Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum).
  • Chartered (or working towards Chartership status).
  • Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, able to demonstrate good engineering judgement with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles.
