Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust, Hereford, seeks a Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist (Neurophysiology) Band 7 for 22.5 hours/week. You will lead and perform advanced neurophysiological investigations, including EEGs and nerve conduction, with autonomous practice and high clinical judgement.

The post offers a permanent, part-time contract with pro rata salary and a focus on safe, patient-centred care within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Registration with RCCP or HCPC is required.
• Degree in Neurophysiology (BSc/MSc) or equivalent.
• Post-qualification experience in neurophysiology and some supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, analyse and interpret basic to advanced neurophysiological investigations.
• Perform routine and specialised EEGs in adults and children, including ITU/SCBU.
• Undertake sleep-deprived EEGs and medication-related recordings.
• Perform VEPs and pattern electroretinograms.
• Lead carpal tunnel and nerve function clinics; ambulatory EEGs 24–72 hours.
• Provide reports and specialist advice to clinicians with professional judgement.
• Assess and plan patient care; communicate complex information clearly.
• Maintain infection control, patient safety and data protection.
