18 Week Support is seeking a Consultant Neurologist in Sheffield. The role welcomes candidates with a broad range of neurological expertise, with specialist interests considered. The post involves leading assessment, management, and teaching within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will participate in outpatient and inpatient services, clinical governance, and CPD activities, contributing to high-quality patient care in a dynamic neurological department.

Qualificações

• Professional medical degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent).
• Full registration and licence to practise with the relevant regulatory body.
• Completion of specialist training in Neurology.
• CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Neurology or equivalent.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Neurology is desirable.
• Experience in research, clinical trials, or academic medicine is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of neurological conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations and interpret diagnostic investigations (MRI, CT, EEG, EMG, lumbar puncture).
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic neurological disorders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, neurosurgeons, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and emergency neurological assessments as required.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings.
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior medical staff and trainees.
• Contribute to teaching, training, and continuing professional development activities.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, regulatory standards and hospital policies.
