Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer

Hybrid Working 2 days on site a week

Our client, a large and forward‑thinking organisation is urgently seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their Head Office team in Hertfordshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated engineer with a solid background in network design, multi‑site infrastructure, and on‑premises and hybrid environments.

The Role

As a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, maintaining, and evolving the organisation's network and infrastructure, supporting a multi‑office WAN environment.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and optimising network infrastructure across multiple sites
• Managing and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and SAN storage
• Leading and contributing to the transition to enterprise‑grade network solutions (Juniper, Cisco, or Fortinet)
• Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware environments
• Ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability across all network and server systems
• Working across on‑premises, Azure, and Microsoft 365 hybrid environments

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong background in network design and infrastructure management
• Experience with WAN/LAN environments and multi‑office connectivity
• Hands‑on experience with firewalls, switches, routers, and SAN technologies
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware
• Exposure to cloud and hybrid environments (Azure, M365)

Desirable Certifications

• Fortinet, Juniper, or Cisco certifications (highly advantageous, not essential)
