Job summary

DGH Recruitment in London is seeking a Network Engineer to design and implement resilient global network solutions for a leading financial services organization. The role combines on-site collaboration with cloud networking experience in Azure and AWS, ensuring maximum uptime for users.

You will work across VPNs, VPCs, firewalls, and SD-WAN, with Meraki gear and security controls, and contribute to automation and monitoring to keep networks secure and efficient.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and supporting network infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki (switching, SD-WAN, Wireless, Cameras).
• Strong fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLAN, WAN, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, TLS, NAT, VPN, BGP, OSPF.
• Experience with firewalls Palo Alto and Fortinet preferred.
• Experience implementing and administering Wi‑Fi.
• Experience in financial services industry is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable, and highly available network architectures using VPNs, VPCs, virtual networks, and load balancers.
• Provision, configure, and manage cloud-based network resources across AWS, Azure, and Cisco Meraki.
• Enforce robust security measures including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
• Continuously monitor network performance, diagnose issues, and optimize for stability, availability, and efficiency.
• Seamlessly connect cloud environments with on-premises infrastructure using secure methods like VPNs.
• Leverage automation tools and scripting languages to streamline network operations and reduce manual tasks.

Job description

Location: London (hybrid working of 3 days per week in the office)

Duration: Initial 12 months

The role will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that compliment a dynamic, always growing and evolving global network for one of the leading organizations in financial services.

Although the core focus of this role will be to act as a Network Engineer with a solid understanding of Network & IT Infrastructure Fundamentals including protocols, switches, routers/firewalls, it will also include exposure to experience operating within Azure & AWS cloud tenants. You will design and manage the local and wide area networks of our organization to ensure maximum up time for our users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Excellent experience in firewalls (Palo Alto, and/or Fortinet preferred)
• Implementing & Administering Wi-Fi
• Experience of working within the financial services industry highly advantagous
