Addition Farnborough is seeking a Network Automation Engineer to transform traditional network operations into an automated environment. You will drive automation across LAN/WAN and data centres, build scalable solutions with Python, Ansible and Terraform, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient networking infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the move from manual network management to automated infrastructure, driving best practice across the network estate.
• Design, build and implement automation solutions across enterprise LAN, WAN and datacentre environments.
• Develop and maintain automation using Python, Ansible and Terraform.
• Improve operational efficiency through automated provisioning, configuration management and monitoring.
• Manage and optimise centralised network management platforms, including Cisco Catalyst Center.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and key stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient network solutions.
• Mentor colleagues, encourage knowledge sharing and help embed modern engineering practices across the team.
• Support a highly available environment through participation in an on-call rota and operational support when required.

Main Skills Needed

• Strong experience delivering network automation across enterprise infrastructure (non-cloud focused).
• Hands-on expertise with Python, Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience implementing or contributing to network automation transformation programmes.
• Knowledge of centralised network management and orchestration platforms, such as Cisco Catalyst Center.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including routing, switching and network security.
• Experience developing reusable automation frameworks, templates and standards.
• CCNP certification or equivalent commercial experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
