Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Developer in Newport, South Wales, for a major digital transformation programme across UK government systems.

The role focuses on maintaining and modernising enterprise-scale applications using .NET/C#, REST APIs, and DevOps pipelines. It is hybrid, with one day onsite at the Newport office and 20% office attendance required.

Newport, South Wales (1 day a week onsite)

£47,766 - £58,850 + Technical Allowances of up to £8,695 + Pension (28.97% employer contribution)

Join a major digital transformation programme and help modernise critical government systems used across the UK.

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Software Developer to play a key role in maintaining, enhancing and modernising enterprise-scale applications. Working within Agile delivery teams, you'll contribute to the design, development, testing and support of business-critical services while helping shape engineering standards and best practices.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using .NET/C#


• Designing and building REST APIs and web services


• Working within Agile teams using modern DevOps practices


• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines and GitHub


• Supporting the modernisation of legacy systems and applications


• Collaborating with stakeholders, product teams and technical specialists


• Providing technical mentorship and helping drive development standards across the team
