Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Naval Architect to join a marine equipment design and manufacturing client in the New Forest, Hampshire. The role focuses on design, development and commissioning of prestigious superyacht projects, combining advanced naval architecture with project leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a Naval Architecture degree with substantial experience in the superyacht sector, and is proficient in AutoCAD and Rhino.

Qualifications

• Degree in Naval Architecture or Superyacht Design is required.
• Significant naval architecture experience, ideally in large yachts.
• Knowledge of maritime regulations and classification.
• Experience with fit-out detailing, interfaces and systems integration.
• Proficient in 2D drafting and 3D modelling software (AutoCAD, Rhino).
• Strong report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• UK work authorisation for the role.

Responsibilities

• Undertake parametric analyses, hull line development and powering studies.
• Perform stability calculations (intact and probabilistic).
• Prepare weight estimates and support weight control.
• Contribute to classification documentation and life-saving/fire protection requirements.
• Support inclining tests, surveys, site visits and commissioning.
• Develop general arrangement and interface drawings.
• Lead projects and coordinate with designers, clients and partners.
• Apply naval architecture expertise to fit-out detailing and systems integration.
