Main duties of the job

• Provide post operative physiotherapy for orthopaedic patients
• Manage outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy clinics
• Provide leadership for the support and management of all physiotherapy functions throughout The New Foscote Hospital
• Provide direct leadership, support and operational management to the Physiotherapy department
• Provide informed advice and support to the hospitals senior management on all physiotherapy practice
• Take responsibility for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of effective physiotherapy policies and practices within the department
• Work in a hands-on role within the Physiotherapy department
• Manage clinical caseloads, providing physiotherapy assessment, treatment and follow-up to the highest standard
• Works closely with Sports Medicine Consultants
• Provide exemplary physiotherapy care for patients
• Encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and yourself
• Promote evidence-based best practice
• Apply legislation, policies and procedures, and ensure others comply with them
• Maintain professional standards in line with the [CSP Code of Members Professional Values and Behaviour] and HCPC Standards

What you will be doing

• Undertake training and development to offer new services, creating commercial opportunities and improving the departments profitability
• Participate in the weekend rota
• Mentor others and participate in CPD
• Provide excellent customer service and promote a professional and caring environment
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and best-practice frameworks
• Ensure the department maintains its [name of accreditation] accreditation
• Take an active role in the administration of the department, including, but not limited to, billing, patient records and general day-to-day administration
• Attend meetings and represent the department when required

Who we are looking for

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Chartered Physiotherapist and member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Knowledge of CSP and HCPC codes and guidance and their implications for practice
• Knowledge of [the Health and Social Care Act 2008 / the Care Standards Act] and Care Quality Commission requirements
• Additional postgraduate education and experience in a relevant area of expertise
• Additional skills or interests in a relevant field, e.g. mens health, womens health, hand therapy, Pilates or acupuncture
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn and use internal and external IT systems

• Ability to deal with matters of a sensitive and, at times, distressing nature
