Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a Specialist Band 6 Physiotherapist for our MSK Physiotherapy Service, based at University Hospital Crosshouse and MSK East Localities. The role involves autonomous assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with musculoskeletal conditions, aligned to national guidance, across defined MSK pathways.

You will contribute to timely access and optimal patient outcomes, with opportunities across the four pillars of practice, and you will act as a practice educator

Qualifications

• Qualified Physiotherapist with HCPC registration and a physiotherapy degree.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; leadership and supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Act autonomously and without direct supervision in assessing, diagnosing, and care planning for patients within the MSK specialty.
• Plan, organise and manage a large, varied caseload across MSK pathways.
• Work both independently and with a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist knowledge.
• Act as a practice educator for physiotherapy students.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to physiotherapy assistants, technical instructors, and rotational staff.
• The post is non-rotational.
