Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced MOT Technician for a growing automotive service centre in the UK. The role requires an MOT Licence, a full UK driving licence and a commitment to high-quality workmanship, safety and customer service. Salary is up to £36,000 with bonus potential and overtime (OTE ~£40,200).

Per the job advert, shift is Monday to Friday 8:30–17:30 with 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:00–16:00; permanent, full-time and on-site at a busy branch network.

Qualifications

• A formal NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 automotive qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• At least few years working as a skilled mechanic on relevant vehicle repairs.
• A valid DVSA MOT Licence / Level 2 Award in MOT.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT testing in line with DVSA requirements, company guidelines and centre procedures.
• Complete mechanical repairs, servicing and fast-fit work including tyres, brakes, exhausts and suspension components.
• Use wheel alignment equipment, interpret results and make relevant adjustments where required.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately and to a high standard while maintaining a clean and professional work area.
