I'm working with a client in the Insurance industry on a Senior QA Automation Engineer role and am keen to speak with QA engineers who have built mobile automation frameworks from scratch.

The role focuses on setting up a mobile automation framework from scratch—choosing the tool, writing the first tests, integrating it into CI, and growing coverage across native iOS and Android apps. Web/API automation is also required.

Core Requirements

• Built a mobile automation framework from scratch, including tool selection, framework structure, first test suite, and scaling – not just maintenance.
• Use a production mobile automation tool such as Maestro, Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest; the tool name must appear in a work bullet.
• Native iOS and Android exposure: signing/provisioning, simulators/emulators, TestFlight, real‑device labs, etc.
• Mobile CI/CD integration (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar) for application build artifacts (IPA/APK), not just web test runs.
• Playwright/Postman (or equivalent modern web & API automation) on the web side.

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience with Maestro, as it is the standard tool for the client.
• Use of BrowserStack, TestFlight, and Intune in a real project context.
• Test coverage for native‑mobile behaviours: offline mode, push notifications, deep links, biometric authentication, app‑permission flows, and device fragmentation.
• Domain experience in insurance, fintech, or payments.
• Specific use of Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Utilisation of AI developer tooling (Copilot, Cursor, etc.) in current practice.
