Job summary

Relation, a London-based TechBio company, seeks a Machine Learning Scientist who combines strong ML fundamentals with biological data to build generative and predictive models of cellular behaviour. You will work with multiomic datasets, scalable ML tooling, and an interdisciplinary team to push the boundaries of modelling in biology and translate insights into experiments.

Qualifications

• PhD required in ML/related field.
• Strong foundations in modern ML.
• Excellence in Python and scalable ML tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement generative modelling approaches learning intervention effects from biological data.
• Develop models with focus on generalisation, counterfactual prediction, and experimental design.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to validate computational hypotheses iteratively.
• Evaluate models for causal coherence, mechanistic fidelity, and real-world utility.
• Communicate findings clearly to interdisciplinary colleagues and stakeholders.
