An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward‑thinking, dynamic and pro‑active Midwifery Ward Manager on Ward 314/315 – Maternity Ward on the Royal Derby Hospital site.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and motivation for a busy team of Midwives and Support Workers.
- Work alongside the existing Senior Midwife to manage a 61‑bedded mixed antenatal/postnatal and transitional care ward.
- Maintain an effective and coordinated approach to ward management by demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Take overall responsibility and accountability for ensuring women, babies and families receive safe, clinically effective, women‑centred care across the whole maternity care pathway.
- Offer expert midwifery clinical advice, operationally support and manage teams and services to deliver high‑quality, effective and compassionate care.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver care to women and babies within acute clinical environments whose needs are complex.
- Support the delivery of midwifery care flexibly across the service, using a range of service models, including continuity of carer.
- Ensure compliance with local, Trust‑wide and national policies, procedures, values and behaviours.
