Job summary

UHMB is recruiting a Registered Midwife for the Day Assessment Unit and Antenatal Clinic at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The position is part-time (25 hours per week) within the outpatient maternity team, offering a dynamic mix of clinical care and flexible work life balance.

You will deliver antenatal care, conduct screening tests, and participate in clinic administration while developing specialist services such as maternal medicine and multiple pregnancies.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with UK registration.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Teaching/mentoring skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide antenatal midwifery care.
• Take and follow up laboratory samples.
• Carry out antenatal screening tests and referrals to screening/fetal medicine.
• Manage day-to-day obstetric clinics operations.
• Run midwife clinics (VBAC and Anti-D).
• Perform administrative tasks (referrals, bookings, ultrasound).
• Lead and develop specialist clinics (e.g., Complex maternal medicine, Multiple pregnancies).
• Provide scheduled care in day assessment unit (CTG monitoring, pre‑op assessments, IV infusions).
