Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Data Engineer Manager in London to drive enterprise data strategies and lead modern data platforms using Fabric and Azure services. You will shape architectures for AI-enabled data solutions and mentor teams across data architects and engineers.

The role requires strong client-facing skills, extensive experience in data governance, and a track record of delivering large-scale data transformations in a consulting environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Define enterprise data strategies, target architectures and roadmaps.
  • Architect modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Power BI.
  • Design scalable data lake, lakehouse, data warehouse and data integration solutions.
  • Establish data governance, security, quality, metadata and lineage using Microsoft Purview.
  • Provide architecture leadership for Data & AI, analytics and Generative AI initiatives.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technology selection and technical assurance across major programmes.
  • Engage with senior technology stakeholders to shape data strategy and solutions.
  • Lead and mentor Data Architects, Data Engineers and technical teams.
  • Support solution shaping, proposals, estimates and business development activities.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and Microsoft technology partners.
  • Help shape strategy and roadmaps for improving client AI and Data architectures.
  • Provide ongoing architectural support for delivery teams, ensuring solutions are scalable and aligned with architecture principles.
  • Contribute to architectural thought leadership by sharing ideas on innovation and emerging technologies.
  • Lead and mentor junior architects, guiding patterns and best practices.

Data Engineer Manager Role

As a Data Engineer Manager, you will:

  • Define enterprise data strategies, target architectures and transformation roadmaps.
  • Architect modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Power BI.
  • Design scalable data lake, lakehouse, data warehouse and data integration solutions.
  • Establish data governance, security, quality, metadata and lineage using Microsoft Purview.
  • Provide architecture leadership for Data & AI, analytics and Generative AI initiatives.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technology selection and technical assurance across major programmes.
  • Engage with senior technology stakeholders to shape data strategy and solutions.
  • Lead and mentor Data Architects, Data Engineers and technical teams.
  • Support solution shaping, proposals, estimates and business development activities.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and Microsoft technology partners.
  • Help shape strategy and roadmaps for improving client AI and Data architectures.
  • Provide ongoing architectural support for delivery teams, ensuring solutions are technically sound, scalable, and aligned with agreed architecture principles throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Contribute to architectural thought leadership by sharing ideas on innovation, emerging technologies, and modern data and AI architecture patterns across client and internal forums.
  • Lead and mentor junior architects, providing guidance on architectural patterns, standards, and best practices while supporting their professional development.
  • Drive innovation in data and AI architecture by prototyping new technologies and developing proofs of concept to validate ideas and inform client and internal recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with client architecture and technology stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure alignment between client objectives, architectural direction, and delivery outcomes.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering or Technology Architecture.
  • Strong enterprise experience with Microsoft Azure Data and Analytics.
  • Hands-on architectural experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Databricks/Synapse.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses and data integration.
  • Experience with data governance, security, privacy and Microsoft Purview.
  • Understanding of AI/ML and Generative AI data architectures.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong client-facing, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience in consulting, systems integration or large enterprise environments is desirable.
  • Commercial experience in Azure cloud platform(Azure), preferably with relevant certifications.
  • Expertise across key data domains including data modelling, pipelining, governance, and data consumption.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in client facing environments and a proven track record in architecting complex data solutions.
  • Experience leading technical teams, coordinating across project streams to deliver high-quality Data and AI solution.
