CDW UK – Manchester, United Kingdom. Role: Senior Microsoft Cloud Solution Architect.

Overview

CDW’s Microsoft Solutions team is a group of Solutions Architects and Specialists that is part of the wider Microsoft Practice. The role has three key areas of responsibility, which are broken down below.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior architect, using your depth of expertise and the wider team to own opportunities, engage with customers and win enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure stack engagements.
• Support the development of the team and the wider department by contributing to team projects and helping junior team members achieve their career aspirations.
• Develop and maintain your own skills and knowledge through research, self-guided learning, lab time and formal training/accreditation.
• Work with customers, partners and salespeople to qualify opportunities and deliver value-adding Microsoft and other technology outcomes.
• Produce high-quality documentation.
• Support the smooth handover of projects into delivery teams and act as an escalation point during their life and transition into service.
• Drive and evangelise CDW capabilities to customers, differentiating CDW through its productised services, consulting capability and Microsoft expertise.
• Build and develop strong relationships across the business (Sales, Professional Services, Managed Services and the wider CDW community) to draw on as needed.
• Cultivate strong Microsoft and Microsoft ecosystem relationships to stay current with offerings and roadmaps and advise customers as an agnostic advisor.
• Understand the commercial impact of proposed solutions and help customers and CDW’s sales teams select solutions that meet budget and expectations.
• Assist CDW salespeople with technical guidance across products and solutions and evangelise the team’s capabilities.
• Act as a trusted adviser to key customers by building knowledge of their environments.
• Provide input into team meetings, one-to-ones, appraisals and assessments and cover for the Practice Lead where required.
• Attain and maintain the highest relevant accreditations where required.

Qualifications / What we expect of you

• Demonstrated credible experience in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft ecosystem technologies, with a track record of using this experience to win complex opportunities with mid-market, enterprise and public sector customers.
• Advanced Azure capability; a specialism in Data AI or Cyber areas is desirable.
• Ability to lead customers through a transformational journey that delivers tangible benefits quickly while maximising engagement scope.
• Experience selling both professional and managed services.
• A passion to learn and deliver presales expertise across a broader set of technologies.
• Highly ambitious, credible, motivated and accountable, with the ability to build meaningful relationships and to win hearts and minds—confident yet humble.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management, the ability to lead multiple initiatives and adjust priorities as business needs change.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly present concepts and recommendations in verbal, written and presenting formats to customers, senior leaders and cross-functional audiences.
• High levels of industry knowledge with a continuous desire to stay informed about market developments.
• Willingness to travel occasionally between CDW UK and international offices while maintaining work-life balance.
