Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the full MEP design process across multiple projects (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems)
  • Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other design professionals to ensure designs are fully integrated and support operational requirements
  • Manage external MEP consultants and contractors, ensuring alignment with project goals
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all MEP matters, providing regular updates to project managers, clients, and construction teams
  • Review and approve detailed design documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Oversee MEP-related RFIs, technical submissions, and documentation workflows
  • Ensure all designs comply with building codes, health and safety regulations, and hospitality-specific requirements
  • Manage MEP budgets, identify opportunities for value engineering, and maintain cost control
  • Review MEP services tenders and input into contractor and consultant selection
  • Maintain accurate, organised, and up-to-date design documentation and as-built records
  • Continuously improve departmental processes and ensure the Head of MEP is briefed on queries and issues
About You:
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in MEP consultancy or design management within main contractor or developer environments
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering or related field
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale, complex projects, ideally in hospitality or commercial-to-residential conversions
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high-quality, cost-effective designs
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • Strong ethical conduct, teamwork, and commitment to high-quality delivery
