The Mental Health & Wellness Team in Waltham Forest (MH&WT) is looking to recruit a Senior Mental Health Practitioner Band 6 Nurse for a full‑time vacancy. The post holder will be working within a dynamic and friendly multi‑disciplinary team. Applicants will have substantial experience of working within a mental health setting and will possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills as well as evidence‑based knowledge of working in the Recovery Model framework and trauma informed care.
The Successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a multi‑disciplinary team of professionals in the newly formed Mental Wellness teams. All successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the projects that support the team and to apply for training and development initiatives.

You will be working as part of our multi‑disciplinary team and will coordinate a caseload of service users that have complex and challenging needs.
We require good IT skills and knowledge of using electronic recording systems. It is essential that you are willing to work flexibly within the demands of the service.
You will work closely within a multi‑disciplinary team and other agencies to deliver recovery focused health and social care interventions that includes managing risk and the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide managerial supervision to junior colleagues, mentor MDT students and participate in on‑going educational and research programmes.
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop‑in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).
