Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield, a Category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.

Hours

7 day service. Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00 or 08:00–18:00, Saturday–Sunday 08:30–16:30. 18:00 finish; weekend duties and bank holidays are shared across the team.

This position is full time; salary up to £47,466 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients' mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care, seeking and acting on feedback to personalise care.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries.
  • Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following policies and safeguarding procedures.
