Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health team at HMP Doncaster, a category B Mens Prison located in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

Hours

Monday to Sunday from 08:00 - 18:30. There is an expectation to work one weekend in 6, on a rolling shift pattern.

Salary

This position is full time. You’ll receive an annual salary up to £49,175 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments and manage caseload for patients referred into Mental Health Services
  • Provide advice for treatment options and initiate supportive care plans
  • Work with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Support team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicate treatment options and initiate supportive care plans
  • Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence
  • Contribute to healthcare strategy and vision including delivering evidence‑based care, non‑judgemental care, inspiring excellence, promoting best practice, and sharing knowledge

Qualifications
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker (Mental Health), Occupational Therapist (Mental Health), Speech and Language Therapist (Mental Health)
  • Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Current UK professional registration
