Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health Team at HMP Garth. HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a category B Prison located in Lancashire. The mental health nurse will be based within the healthcare department and will also be required to work on the prison wings.

  • Monday - Friday
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 8am - 4pm
Salary

This position is permanent and you will receive an annual salary of between £42,094 - £47,466 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients' mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
