Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Healthteam at HMP Leeds, a category B men's Prison located in Gloucester Terrace in the Armley area of Leeds, West Yorkshire.

An integrated and friendly team who really value strong culture and ensuring everyone in the current team and new starters all carry and hold the same PPG values. Lots of opportunities to develop, in‑house training provided and if you are successful, a shadow shift will be required to ensure you know a bit more about the setting.

Hours

37.5 hours a week working Monday to Friday 8-4, with 1 in 4 weekends, and some bank holidays.

This position is full time and you’ll receive an annual salary up to £49,175 per annum (FTE – depending on experience).

Main duties of the job
  • Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients’ mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi‑disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health‑care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence‑based care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following our policies and procedures, always considering safeguarding.
