Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C Prison located on the outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire. HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males.

Hours
  • Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week
  • 8am - 6pm over 4 days
  • 1 weekend every 6 weeks
Salary

This position is full time, with an annual salary up to £43,609.00 - £49,175.00 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients\' mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies and procedures, always considering safeguarding.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
