Job summary

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced leader to manage a busy Mental Health Act office. You will oversee a team of experienced Mental Health Act Coordinators, engage with professionals, carers and external agencies, and drive compliance with the Mental Health Act while maintaining a positive, well-organised environment.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to handle difficult conversations; you will work with a SLA lead

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and staff line management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act and its implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct line-management of team leaders and coordinators.
• Lead on investigation of complaints and incidents.
• Provide regular updates on compliance with the Mental Health Act to directors.
• Support day-to-day supervision and appraisal of staff.
