Albion Rye Associates Ltd. is seeking a Senior Medical Writer to turn complex science into clear, engaging content for healthcare professionals, patients and the wider public.

You will join a growing Scientific Services team delivering insight-driven medical communications and education programmes for national and international clients. Work across medical affairs, medical education and patient communications, contributing to strategy and delivering high-quality content across multiple formats.

Formación

• Degree in biomedical science or related field.

Are you a passionate senior/medical writer who enjoys turning complex science into clear, engaging and impactful content?

An established, award-winning independent healthcare communications agency is looking to expand its Scientific Services team with a Medical Writer / Senior Medical Writer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing agency delivering insight-driven medical communications and education programmes for national and international healthcare clients.

With a varied portfolio spanning Medical Affairs, medical education and patient communications, this role offers the chance to work across a broad range of projects, audiences and formats.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for developing high-quality scientific content that informs, educates and engages audiences, from healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders to patients and the wider public.

Working closely with account teams, clients and external experts, you’ll contribute to the development and delivery of creative, evidence-based communications projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Researching and writing a broad range of scientific and medical content, including congress presentations, abstracts, posters, publications, websites, patient support materials, training resources, scripts and digital content.
• Translating complex scientific information into clear, engaging and audience-appropriate communications.
• Developing strong therapy area knowledge and contributing to strategic communication plans.
• Collaborating with clients, healthcare professionals, KOLs and internal teams to develop effective content.
• Attending client and expert meetings, capturing key insights and producing detailed meeting reports.
• Ensuring all materials meet high standards of scientific accuracy, editorial quality and regulatory compliance.
• Managing multiple projects to agreed timelines, budgets and specifications.
• Supporting editorial quality control, briefing freelance writers and contributing to new business pitches where required.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• A degree or higher qualification in biomedical science or a related discipline.
• Experience working within a medical communications or medical education agency in a writing or editorial role.
• Strong scientific writing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels.
• Excellent attention to detail, grammar and written communication.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confident interpersonal and presentation skills, alongside a collaborative, client-focused approach.
• A proactive mindset and the flexibility to thrive in a growing agency environment.
