Job summary

Newton Colmore is seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer in Cambridge to drive the creation of life‑changing medical devices. You will work hands‑on with a multidisciplinary team to design, prototype and refine complex devices across several specialisms.

A degree in mechatronics or related field is preferred, and candidates from regulated sectors are welcome. The role is on‑site, five days per week, with a career‑driven path, ongoing professional development and a competitive starting salary,

Qualifications

• Strong machine design capability.
• Experience in medical devices sector or other highly regulated environments such as biotechnology, life sciences or healthcare technology.
• Degree in mechatronics, robotics, mechanical engineering or closely related discipline that leads to mechatronics design.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex medical devices that improve and save lives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electronics, physics and software engineers.
• Engage in hands‑on design, CAD modelling, prototyping and building functional mechanisms across multiple device types.
