Job summary

ECM Selection (Holdings) Limited in Cambridge is seeking a senior engineer to focus on mechanical designs, solving complex challenges and supporting prototyping for life-saving battlefield systems.

You will spend time in workshop facilities and at customer sites in the UK and abroad, taking ownership of mechanical concepts and ensuring seamless integration with electronics, including PCB level design.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on engineering skills and problem solving.
• Commercial experience guiding products from concept through prototyping and into production, including knowledge of additive manufacture.
• Proficiency with both mechanical and electronic design and a solid understanding of general engineering principles.

Build the technology protecting lives on the battlefield

This highly specialised team of engineers work on the cutting-edge of drone detection, identification and tracking. They combine sophisticated optical systems and state-of-the-art machine learning software with readily available and low-cost additive manufacturing and single-board computer technologies to create life-protecting solutions.

As a senior engineer you will be working primarily on the mechanical designs, solving complex challenges, refining concepts and supporting prototyping. This will include time spent at their workshop facilities as well as at customer sites both in the country and abroad. Additionally you will be involved in PCB level electronics design overseeing development and integration with the mechanical systems.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on engineering skills and a passion for building and problem solving
• Commercial experience guiding products from concept through prototyping and into production, including knowledge of additive manufacture
• Proficiency with both mechanical and electronic design and a solid understanding of general engineering principles
• Impressive academics including a relevant degree from a top university (top 10 in the UK)
