Job summary

Pertemps Specialist Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer in Basingstoke to lead the design and delivery of complete mechanical building services. Office-based with travel to project sites, you will work closely with the M&E team to manage projects from feasibility to delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical building services design within an engineering consultancy or M&E contractor.
• Ability to design complete mechanical building services systems.
• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services; engineering degree advantageous.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Experience with Hevacomp or similar calculation software.
• Knowledge of BIM requirements and project delivery structures.
• Strong technical report and specification writing ability.
• Capability to lead meetings and communicate with clients, contractors and design teams.
• Understanding of current building services standards and CDM Regulations.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work outside standard hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering projects from survey through to detailed design and delivery.
• Produce mechanical building services designs, calculations, specifications and reports.
• Design heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic water and drainage systems.
• Complete design reviews ensuring practical, buildable solutions.
• Produce and review drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Carry out mechanical design calculations using Hevacomp or similar tools.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections and technical assessments.
• Manage project programmes, contract administration and site supervision.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and design teams; support business development.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and internal quality procedures.
