Job summary

Elite Hire Solutions is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Estimator for an office-based role in Warwick. You will prepare detailed estimates across commercial, education, healthcare and heritage sectors, drawing on drawings, specs and tenders to drive competitive bids.

You will run take-offs, evaluate supplier quotes, use Cypher/Trimble/Ensign or similar tools, and support bid strategy through to handover. Strong Excel skills and multi-tender management are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within an M&E Building Services contractor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical estimates from drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Complete take-offs for HVAC, heating, domestic water services, public health, process pipework and specialist mechanical installations.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Produce accurate cost plans using estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Identify value engineering opportunities, risks and tender exclusions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and the supply chain throughout the tender process.
• Attend tender review meetings and support bid strategy.
• Prepare tender submissions, qualifications and supporting documentation.
• Assist with project handovers following successful tenders.
• Maintain estimating databases and keep up to date with current market rates.
