Job summary

Redline Group Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with robotics and mechatronics experience to help develop autonomous fruit harvesting robots. You will design, analyze, and document mechanisms while creating production‑ready SolidWorks models and drawings.

You will collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, vision and ML teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions that improve agriculture and reduce waste.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience designing robotics, automation equipment, moving machinery or mechatronic products.
  • Strong SolidWorks experience, including production‑standard drawings and assemblies.
  • Experience with tolerance stack‑up analysis, GD&T and design for manufacture principles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, casting, CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Experience using FEA tools to verify and optimise designs.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in robotics, automation, or mechatronic product development to join our growing team in Cambridge. You will develop cutting‑edge autonomous fruit harvesting robots that are transforming agriculture.
