A multi-disciplinary consultancy in Manchester is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. You will manage medium-to-large scale projects and have significant experience in HVAC design. The role requires a Chartered Engineer with at least 10 years of post-graduate experience, proficiency in design tools like Autodesk Revit, and the ability to work independently and in teams.
A well-established award‑winning multi‑disciplinary consultancy has an immediate requirement for an experienced senior‑level mechanical design engineer to join their design team in their Manchester office.
It is essential that you have experience within the automotive, commercial/industrial, retail, residential and education sectors, and experience in clean/dry rooms is desirable.
The successful candidate will be responsible, under the leadership of the Director/Associate Director, for the project management of medium‑to‑large‑scale projects and individual engineering tasks across client sectors. Responsibilities include creating, developing and finalising engineering design solutions of mechanical services elements, collaborating with other team members and project teams, liaising directly with clients and design professionals, attending regular project meetings, site inspections, and monitoring site‑level works.

Candidates must have at least ten (10) years of post‑graduate hands‑on design experience in building services consultancy. The candidate must be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with either the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and possess a building services/architectural engineering degree and/or masters. Accreditation via an appropriate institution (e.g., CIBSE under an Energy Assessor Scheme for the production and lodgement of non‑domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for both new build and existing (refurbishment) buildings) is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Autodesk Revit MEP, Cymap, and ideally EDSL Tas is required. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide support to other teams and/or offices from time to time.
The ability to operate as part of a wider project team within appropriate authority levels and to represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and external organisations is expected. The candidate will work independently as well as collaboratively within dynamic teams, demonstrating high attention to detail.
