Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineer with healthcare project experience to join our London team. You will lead HVAC design across large healthcare schemes, guiding a multidisciplinary ME P group, while coordinating with a broad expert network.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, technical excellence, and delivering robust, compliant designs. Based in London, you’ll contribute to landmark projects, collaborate across sectors, and benefit from a hybrid

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of HTM and HBN codes.
• Experience delivering HVAC designs on complex healthcare projects.
• Experience managing a design team to meet quality and schedule.
• Ability to perform technical design reviews.
• Strong understanding of building regulations and UK standards.
• Experience using Revit MEP or similar 3D design software.
• Knowledge of dynamic thermal modelling (IES).

Responsibilities

• Deliver HVAC designs at all RIBA stages.
• Supervise detailed designs and oversee team output.
• Lead feasibility studies for healthcare projects.
• Produce detailed equipment schedules and design documents.
• Brief project team and manage access to documents and scope.
• Review design programme and allocate resources.
• Monitor cost-to-complete and flag profit/loss implications.
