Job summary

NUVIA UK is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Warrington with hybrid travel options. The role involves input to feasibility studies for roof refurbishment and coordinating cross-disciplinary design work. BPSS basic clearance is required, with no transfer of prior clearance.

The candidate will oversee and input into complex engineering activities, often in a regulated nuclear environment, with a focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery. This position can be contractor PAYE.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience influencing design practice and outcomes.
• 5 years in a highly regulated industry; nuclear experience preferred.
• 5 years supervising engineering design staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver feasibility studies and options development for roof refurbishment.
• Input into and support the delivery of complex engineering activities.
• Coordinate cross-discipline works and work autonomously within the discipline.

Job Overview

NUVIA UK's Technical Services & Consulting department is fast growing with hybrid opportunities available up and down the country. We're striving to create a multidisciplinary team to offer our clients the best range of talent. BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferrable. To undertake and input into the delivery of the feasibility study to develop options for the Roof Refurbishment aligned with the draft Outline Requirements Specification already provided, including all drawing work in support of the study.

Principal Accountabilities

The role requires a familiarity with a wide range of technologies and techniques along with a high-level capability over a broad spectrum of technical knowledge. The role requires the ability to be self-driven within the specific discipline and also co-ordinate works with associated cross discipline personnel in the delivery of complex and significantly sized work packages. The role requires the capability of independent and autonomous work during the delivery of complex engineering activities but will actively seek guidance from other engineers and specialists in order to augment their own understanding and further the project goals.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Over 10 years of experience in a role having direct influence over design practice and outcomes. 5 years' experience of working within a highly regulated industry, 3-year experience should ideally have been gained within the nuclear industry. 5 years' experience of supervising engineering design staff. Preferred - HNC / HND or extensive equivalent experience.
