Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Aberdeen

Salary: Up to 70,000

We are looking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will provide technical leadership in the design, analysis, and delivery of complex mechanical systems for subsea and offshore applications. The role encompasses a range of subsea equipment and platforms, including remotely operated systems, deployment and recovery equipment, and associated mechanical assemblies.

This position spans the full engineering lifecycle from concept development through detailed design, testing, and field deployment and involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high–performance solutions for harsh marine and subsea environments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design and 3D CAD modelling for subsea systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and test procedures, using PDM systems for version control.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and FEA to optimise designs for structural integrity, reliability, and manufacturability in subsea environments.
  • Support prototyping, testing, integration, and field commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective system integration and project delivery.
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and best practices.
Skills and experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in subsea or offshore mechanical design, ideally including ROVs, AUVs, or deployment systems.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD SolidWorks and engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong problem–solving, communication, and project collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel offshore or to client sites as required.
