Qualifications

Job description

Day-to-day, you'll be at the heart of projects that keep the Royal Navy operational and ready for the future. You'll lead on the design, configuration, and life-extension of mechanical handling systems - cranes, lifting equipment, and critical assets - ensuring they meet the highest safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver design and configuration solutions for mechanical handling assets
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects from concept through to implementation
  • Produce and review engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications
  • Provide technical advice during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning
  • Manage technical queries and ensure compliance with safety and design standards

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with an expectation of 3 days in the office/onsite.

Qualifications for the Senior Mechanical Engineer
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Professional registration - Desirable
