About the Role
An established and well–respected Building Services Consultancy in Oxford is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a great opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, residential, education, and healthcare projects, contributing to sustainable and innovative building design. You ll take a leading role in project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to produce efficient and creative design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the mechanical design on multiple projects from concept to completion.
- Produce detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for HVAC, public health, and building management systems.
- Attend design and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Work collaboratively with electrical, sustainability, and architectural teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, sustainability targets, and industry best practices.
- Support project bids, fee proposals, and contribute to business development when required.
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Chartered or working towards CEng status (IMechE or CIBSE).
- Proven experience delivering mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, public health design, and sustainable design principles.
- Proficient in relevant design software (e.g. Hevacomp, Revit, AutoCAD, IES).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to lead projects and work independently.
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring junior engineers.
