Cavendish Nuclear in the Humber region is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development and delivery of mechanical solutions for challenging projects at Hessle or Grimsby. You will work with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers to ensure technical quality and on‑time delivery.

The role offers a full‑time, permanent contract, a hybrid working pattern with three days on site, and a strong benefits package. A HND or higher in Mechanical Engineering and BPSS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• HND or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• BPSS security clearance required.

The role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll combine technical expertise with leadership responsibility, delivering innovative and compliant engineering solutions for complex projects. You'll play a critical role in influencing project outcomes, ensuring technical quality and supporting the successful delivery of work that contributes to national infrastructure and security.

Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, customers and suppliers, you'll provide technical assurance, solve engineering challenges and help develop engineering capability across the business. Day-to-day, You Will Be

• Leading the development and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions for complex projects.
• Coordinating with engineering teams, customers and suppliers to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Reviewing and approving technical designs, calculations and engineering documentation.
• Ensuring all engineering activities satisfy safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Providing technical leadership, solving engineering challenges and mentoring junior engineers.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements available and an expectation to be onsite three days per week at our Hessle or Grimsby office.

Essential Experience Of The Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Proven experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions on complex projects.
• Experience working with and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of the mechanical engineering lifecycle from design through to delivery.
• Experience reviewing technical designs, calculations and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of safety, quality and compliance requirements within regulated industries.

Qualifications For The Senior Mechanical Engineer

HND or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Security Clearance
