Job description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will :

  • Develop next-generation avionics systems focusing on mechanical aspects
  • Analyse requirements design implement and verify mechanical sub-assemblies and components
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior mechanical engineers
  • Contribute to conceptual designs for Avionics platforms and ensure design assurance needs are met within time and budget constraints
  • Produce detailed CAD (Creo Parametric) design layouts manufacturing drawings and manage configuration including complete BoM generation
  • Choose material forming solutions suitable for component duty and quantity
  • Perform and report on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Creo Simulate and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using Flotherm XT
  • Support project estimating manage work to meet cost estimates and schedules and participate in internal customer and supplier meetings
  • Conduct investigations develop solutions and write technical reports
  • Assist with other engineering duties (e.g. testing experimentation modelling) as workload demands
Qualifications

To be successful in this role you should have :

  • Significant experience in mechanical design particularly in avionics systems
  • Degree level education in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD software specifically Creo Parametric
  • Knowledge of BS8888 standards for technical product documentation and specification
  • Ability to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Creo Simulate
  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using Flotherm XT
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Additional Information

This role has a starting salary of between 45600 and 57000 plus our flexible benefits package.

We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
