We are looking for an experienced M&E engineering professional to lead the operational delivery of engineering assurance across our M&E and Fire Safety systems.
You will manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, inspectors and technical assurance specialists, ensuring that works delivered to homes and communal environments meet the required technical, safety and quality standards.
Providing independent oversight of contractor performance, you will help maintain safe, reliable and consistent services for residents. Through your team, you will also ensure there is a responsive technical presence to manage incidents and provide out-of-hours support when required.
You will ensure that M&E and Fire Safety systems across our homes and communal environments are consistently assessed, inspected and supported. Your leadership will strengthen engineering assurance, improve the quality and reliability of contractor-delivered works and help identify technical and safety risks at an early stage.
By leading our engineering, inspection and assurance teams, you will deliver a coordinated service that supports safe and compliant outcomes for residents and builds confidence in the technical quality of our services.
We believe great service starts with great people, and we are committed to recruiting and developing passionate, enthusiastic, and talented individuals who can add value to our thriving organisation.
You will have strong technical knowledge of M&E systems and experience working within a regulated environment. You will understand how relevant legislation, standards and regulatory requirements apply within housing, including those relating to building safety, gas, electrical safety, fire safety and construction management.
You will also have experience leading technical teams, overseeing works and providing guidance on complex issues and escalations. You will be able to assess risks, make sound decisions and communicate technical information clearly to colleagues, contractors and residents.
Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.
This is a people manager role. You will be responsible for setting clear expectations, managing performance and developing the capability of the engineering team to support the consistent delivery of high-quality assurance services.
Once you join us, you'll find plenty of opportunities to grow within our organisation. You'll also have access to a wide range of learning opportunities to help you achieve and maximise your potential.
