A leading engineering firm in Warrington is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. The role involves using CAD software for component design in the Nuclear industry and working on varied projects. The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering degree and over 4 years of experience, with strong communication skills and a methodical approach to work. A competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum is offered, dependent on experience.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles.
  • Experience within the Nuclear industry is beneficial.

JOB – Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION –Warrington

TERM – Permanent

SALARY – £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client design and manufacture high-tech products for a global client base. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with knowledge of Mechanical Design and manufacturing principles to join their team in Warrington on a permanent basis.

Qualifications
  • BSc / BEng / MSc / MEng / HND or similar in Mechanical Engineering
  • Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor etc.
  • 4 or more years’ of experience working in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
  • Previous experience within the Nuclear industry is beneficial
  • Experience with SAP software
  • Good experience with Continuous improvement
  • Experience with process management
  • Good knowledge of different metal materials, manufacturing techniques and machining processes
  • Have a methodical approach to work
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
Responsibilities
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
  • Using SolidWorks, Inventor CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
  • Designing componenets for the Nuclear industry
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Liaising with manufacturing providers
  • Being involved in final assembly of products
  • Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
