A community-focused organisation in London seeks a Bike Maintenance Specialist to handle customer repair requests, repair bikes for resale, and support remote maintenance sessions. Candidates should have an industry Level 2 qualification in bicycle maintenance and experience in a busy bike shop. Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail are essential. Westminster Wheels is a community bike shop operated by Groundwork London. We offer an excellent service to central London’s cycling community by selling high quality pre-loved bikes and servicing bikes. We encourage more Westminster residents to choose cycling by donating bikes, supporting organisations who lead rides & deliver confidence training, and helping people maintain their own bikes. We nurture new talent for London’s cycle retail sector by offering training and waged work experience.
You will help us achieve these aims by, dealing with customers bike repair requests with empathy, using plain language and offering options to suit their budget. Selecting, checking and repairing received bikes for resale and donation; Supporting the delivery of remote activities, such as Dr Bike sessions and offsite maintenance of customers’ bikes and E bikes; Making day-to-day practical decisions on how to refurbish and repair bicycles, support customers and share shop cleaning duties.
