Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Matron for Community Midwifery and Birth Centre to lead the Homebirth Team and community services across South Manchester. The role also supports the MCS and collaborates with Matron colleagues at Oxford Road and North Manchester.

The post requires experienced midwifery leadership, clinical governance skills, and a strong commitment to improving women and family experiences across our maternity services.

Qualifications

• Registered midwife status and UK professional registration.
• Leadership and management experience in maternity services.
• Experience with change management and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the homebirth team and inpatient midwifery across South Manchester.
• Provide strategic leadership for community midwifery and birth centre services.
• Collaborate with Deputy Head of Midwifery and on‑call rota coordinators.
