Qualifications

  • Experience in material analysis using light microscopy and SEM/EDX.
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
  • Knowledge of brazing, welding, and high-temperature joining techniques.
  • Understanding of metallurgy of copper, nickel-copper alloys, steels, and braze alloys.
  • Experience in adhesive selection and properties analysis.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with mechanical and non-destructive testing.
  • Background in vacuum electronic assemblies is desirable.
  • Candidates must hold a British Passport.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing teams to ensure suitable processes and components.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Work in a laboratory environment alongside technicians and engineers.
  • Perform material and assembly investigations using SEM, EDX, and microscopy.
  • Produce clear, detailed technical reports for internal customers.
  • Manage and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Advise on material properties, joining methods, and design suitability.
