Job summary

CCL Global is seeking three experienced Maritime Engineering Technical Superintendents to support a major UK public-sector maritime organisation. Location: Hampshire, Full time on site.

The role requires STCW III/2 or III/3, strong project management, and deep knowledge of vessel machinery, maintenance and compliance with Class, Flag, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM and ISO standards. Occasional travel to shipyards may be required.

Qualifications

• Significant marine engineering experience with maritime vessels.
• Experience as Chief Engineer, Marine Engineer, Technical Superintendent or equivalent.
• STCW Certificate of Competency – STCW III/2 or III/3.
• Knowledge of vessel machinery, maintenance and operations.
• Knowledge of Class, Flag, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM and ISO requirements.
• Project management experience.
• Experience managing vessel maintenance, defects and contractors.
• Ability to advise vessel teams and manage stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vessel operational performance and forward maintenance planning.
• Provide technical direction to Chief Engineers and Vessel Managers.
• Diagnose machinery issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Maximise vessel availability through maintenance and planning.
• Ensure compliance with Class, Flag, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM and ISO.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess Fleet impact.
• Manage relationships with shipyards, suppliers and contractors.
• Develop technical requirements for maintenance periods and contracted works.
• Review vessel engineering standards through ship visits.
• Identify non-conformances and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Support procurement and PO activities related to maintenance.
• Undertake assurance visits with Health & Safety and operations teams.
