Job summary

Fleetwood Nautical College, part of Blackpool and The Fylde College, is seeking an experienced Casual Bank Lecturer in Marine Engineering to join our Maritime Engineering team.

You will deliver Small Vessel Chief Engineer provision, prepare apprentices for MCA written examinations and support electrical and electronic engineering teaching. A Class 1 Chief Engineer certificate or equivalent seagoing experience is preferred; teaching qualifications are desirable and support will be provided.

Qualifications

• Maritime and MCA certification relevant to delivery.
• Senior marine engineering qualification aligned to curriculum.
• Technical competence in electrical/electronic/control content.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver technical teaching across marine engineering subjects.
• Prepare apprentices for MCA written and oral examinations.
• Contribute to SVCE provision and curriculum development.
• Support quality assurance and learner assessment.
