Job summary

Hypersonica is seeking a Senior Manufacturing/Assembly Engineer to industrialise high‑consequence hardware and scale manufacturing across sites. You’ll own the end‑to‑end assembly process, define MBOM/BOE, and design factory layouts to optimise ergonomics, throughput and yield.

You will work across design, process, quality and supply, leading a small team and coordinating with global vendors. Travel to Germany and the UK will be required as projects expand.

Qualifications

• Senior Manufacturing/Assembly Engineer with experience industrialising complex hardware.
• Greenfield / 0-to-1 NPI experience required.
• Strong fundamentals in process design, DfA, tolerancing and interfaces.
• Technical integrator across design, process, quality and supply.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work with global vendors.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end assembly process from raw material to final acceptance.
• Author the MBOM, Bill of Process and Bill of Equipment, with routings, cycle times and takt.
• Design the factory footprint including cells, workstations, flow, tooling and labour.
• Review and approve manufacturability and interface designs; check tolerancing and stack-up risks.
• Apply DfMA principles to drive out cost and risk, including ergonomics and process capability.
• Identify process risks early and mitigate via design or process changes.
• Author SOPs and assembly work instructions to AS9100 standards; embed PFMEA controls.
• Specify, design and source tooling; lead vendors and run FAT/SAT tests.
• Support prototypes and first builds; assist First Article Inspection with Quality.
• Drive ramp from first builds to steady state, improve yield and line balance.
• Create scalable manufacturing blueprint for future sites.
• Own manufacturing data in Siemens Teamcenter; ensure MBOM/EBOM alignment.
• Collaborate with product engineering to ensure manufacturing readiness early.
• Build and lead a growing team of manufacturing engineers.
