Job summary

Cornwall-based Futures is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The role focuses on improving OEE, productivity and waste while delivering hands-on mechanical support on equipment and processes.

You will lead CI projects, apply Lean, Kaizen and SMED, and work closely with Production, Maintenance and Quality to implement upgrades and new processes across the site.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineer with shop-floor focus delivering tangible improvements.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of OEE, RCA, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, SMED or similar methods.
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and project delivery skills.
• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or degree).

Responsibilities

• Lead Continuous Improvement projects across manufacturing.
• Improve OEE, productivity, efficiency, quality and waste.
• Provide hands-on mechanical engineering support across equipment and processes.
• Drive structured problem-solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support equipment upgrades, process improvements and engineering projects.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering teams.
• Support introduction and optimisation of new equipment and processes.
• Use Lean Manufacturing and CI methodologies to deliver measurable improvements.
• Act as a senior technical point of contact and promote best practice.
