Job summary

Octagon Group is seeking an experienced Senior NPI Engineer in Sedgefield to bridge engineering and production, moving new products from prototype to scalable manufacturing.

You will develop RF/microwave manufacturing processes, support DFM/DFX, and analyse RF data to improve yields while contributing to continuous improvement across the production line.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in Electronics, RF, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Experience introducing RF or microwave products into manufacturing.
• Background in RF, microwave, electronics, aerospace, defence, semiconductor or other high-precision manufacturing.
• Knowledge of 8D, DMAIC or FMEA; SPC experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Support NPI activities from prototype through to production.
• Develop and optimise manufacturing processes.
• Support DFM and DFA activities.
• Analyse RF test data to improve yield and process capability.
• Investigate manufacturing and RF performance issues.
• Support production ramp-up and continuous improvement.
• Design and implement tooling and fixtures.
• Produce manufacturing procedures and technical documentation.

Senior NPI Engineer

Location: Sedgefield, England, United Kingdom

Job Type: Full-time, hybrid

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

You’ll work at the interface between engineering and production, helping move new products from prototype through to stable, repeatable manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Support NPI activities from prototype through to production
• Develop and optimise manufacturing processes

About You

• HND, degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, RF, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
• Experience introducing RF or microwave products into manufacturing
• Background in RF, microwave, electronics, aerospace, defence, semiconductor or other high-precision manufacturing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with manufacturing process development and continuous improvement
• Knowledge of 8D, DMAIC or FMEA
• SPC and process capability experience would be advantageous
• Familiarity with VNA, spectrum analysers and signal generators would be beneficial
